Field Engineer - Team Lead

Job Summary

Interstates seeks a Field Engineer Team Lead to guide technical staff, support workforce readiness, and help project teams deliver complex electrical construction work.

Project Details

Support complex electrical construction projects serving industrial facilities. The role is based in one of four listed locations: Omaha, Nebraska; Fort Collins, Colorado; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; or Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and develop entry-level field engineers and technical professionals; manage hiring and performance reviews.
• Coordinate staff assignments and workload with project, market, and discipline leaders.
• Provide technical guidance in electrical construction, field engineering, documentation, and project execution.
• Support workforce planning, cross-training, continuous improvement, and adoption of team standards and tools.
• Provide technical coordination and leadership in project and field settings as needed.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or associate degree in a relevant discipline, such as engineering technology, construction management, or electrical technology.
• Four to ten years of progressive experience in field engineering, electrical construction, VDC/BIM, design, planning, or a related area.
• Strong communication, coaching, relationship-building, and workload-prioritization skills.
• A demonstrated interest in developing people and building effective teams.
• A bachelor's degree, experience developing technical professionals, advanced relevant technology skills, and experience with complex electrical projects are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $90,000–$115,000.
