Field Engineer - Team Lead

Job Summary

Interstates seeks a Field Engineer – Team Lead to guide and develop early-career field engineers and technical staff supporting electrical construction work. The role combines people leadership with technical support and coordination.

Project Details

Support complex electrical construction projects serving industrial facilities. The role is based in one of four listed locations: Omaha, Fort Collins, Sioux Falls, or Tulsa.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and support career development for field engineers and technical professionals.
• Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and talent planning.
• Coordinate staff assignments with project and market leaders, balancing workload and development needs.
• Provide technical guidance in electrical construction, field engineering, documentation, and project execution.
• Support workforce planning, cross-training, process improvements, and project or field coordination as needed.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or associate degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering technology, construction management, or electrical technology.
• Four to ten years of progressive experience in field engineering, electrical construction, VDC/BIM, design, planning, or a related area.
• Strong communication, coaching, prioritization, and team-development skills.
• Electrical construction experience is preferred.
• Preferred qualifications include a relevant bachelor's degree, experience developing technical staff, advanced proficiency with relevant project technology, and experience on complex electrical projects.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $90,000–$115,000.
