Field Engineer - Telluride, CO (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Field Engineer to support the onsite construction team for a major hospitality and resort development in Telluride, Colorado. The position reports to the Project Superintendent and provides hands-on field coordination experience.

Project Details

Support a landmark hospitality and resort project in Telluride. Candidates must relocate to the project location for its duration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project planning, risk mitigation, moisture infiltration, freeze review, equipment planning, and site logistics.
• Support subcontractor preconstruction meetings, field layout, cleanup, material protection, and quality monitoring.
• Maintain cost reports, project schedules, delay documentation, and computerized schedule updates.
• Coordinate responses to RFIs and communicate field information to project stakeholders.
• Monitor subcontractor, employee, consultant, schedule, quality, and cost performance.
• Maintain working relationships with owners' and architects' representatives and help resolve field issues.

Required Experience

• Industry-related college degree required.
• Construction internship or at least two years of construction project management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Apple devices; Procore, JDE, and Asta experience preferred.
