Foundations Project Engineer

Job Summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is seeking a Project Engineer to support technical, administrative, financial, and field operations for specialty foundation construction projects. The role is based in Carlisle, Arkansas, with assignments available across the United States.

Project Details

Projects involve geotechnical and foundation solutions for transportation, power, water and wastewater, mining, building, industrial, oil, gas, and chemical markets. Work may include drilled shafts, micropiles, driven piles, auger cast-in-place piles, soil mixing, excavation support, anchors, tie-backs, and ground improvement systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout for foundation projects.
• Manage project cost, revenue, cash flow, contracts, subcontracts, and documentation.
• Work with project managers, superintendents, field engineers, and cost engineers to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Oversee temporary engineering, permanent design coordination, quality control, safety compliance, inspections, and client relations.
• Provide project updates and support operations planning.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience.
• Experience managing engineers and interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of construction processes, project management tools, scheduling, and quality requirements.
• Experience with auger cast-in-place piles is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, ethics, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, including overtime and weekends when required.
