General Superintendent-Southeast District

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a General Superintendent to lead field supervision for major infrastructure projects in the Southeast District. The role directs field operations, multiple foremen and craft teams, and project execution from planning through turnover.

Project Details

The Southeast District delivers heavy civil, transportation, and water resource work, including bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations, and tunnels. Assignments may require relocation throughout the Southeast and along the East Coast.

Responsibilities

• Direct work methods, scheduling, cost control, quality, and crew assignments.
• Mentor junior superintendents and oversee foremen, journeymen, and laborers.
• Manage field contract administration, client communication, meetings, and issue resolution.
• Review job costs, cash-flow projections, labor rates, change orders, and project completion plans.
• Maintain project records and complete performance evaluations for direct reports.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction experience, including 5 or more years in superintendent or construction leadership roles.
• Infrastructure experience with roads, bridges, dams, or similar heavy civil work is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project cost and schedule, resolve problems, and lead with limited supervision.
• Strong communication, organization, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract administration skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when project demands require.
