Grading Superintendent - South Central District

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Grading Superintendent to lead field execution and serve as the primary site representative for major infrastructure work in the South Central region. The role coordinates clients, inspectors, subcontractors, craft employees, and project personnel while driving safe, efficient, and high-quality grading operations.

Project Details

Projects across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and other U.S. locations may include mass grading, drainage, paving, utilities, roads, highways, bridges, and water resources. The work supports transportation and utility infrastructure, including initiatives serving data centers, energy reliability, and community resilience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise grading operations, schedules, material control, and daily field activities.
• Lead execution processes, organizational structures, crew planning, subcontractor performance, quality, and construction cost control.
• Evaluate work against contract requirements, design information, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Monitor safety orientations, training, field coaching, crew composition, wage compliance, and productivity.
• Review labor-hour and installation budgets and plan staffing, equipment, facilities, and tools.
• Coordinate with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, craft employees, and the project team.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years supervising multiple grading crews.
• Working knowledge of Trimble machine grade control, demolition, excavation, lime, and flex base operations.
• Knowledge of local construction materials and direct experience with roads, highways, bridges, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, and safety training.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions, work safely, and meet deadlines.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; bilingual proficiency is a plus.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and at varying project locations.
