Job Summary
PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an HSE Manager in San Antonio to lead health, safety, and environmental programs for building construction projects. This role supports project teams through training, compliance oversight, field coaching, and incident prevention.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific HSE requirements, training, hazard controls, and emergency response plans.
- Lead inspections, audits, PPE evaluations, equipment and tool compliance reviews, and process improvement efforts.
- Coach project teams and direct reports on HSE expectations, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness.
- Participate in incident investigations, determine when outside resources are needed, and monitor injury-related modified work.
- Communicate safety trends, anticipated hazards, and corrective actions to project leadership.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
- At least 9 years of related industry experience, including direct HSE work, and 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, terminology, occupational health and safety requirements, and environmental legislation.
- Ability to coach and mentor others and present HSE topics to project teams and senior managers.
- CRSP certification preferred for Canadian practice; ASP certificate preferred for U.S. practice.
