Job Summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Safety Manager to support field safety execution on a Department of Energy construction project in Blackfoot, Idaho. The role reports to the Project Safety Director and requires daily site attendance.

Project Details

The position supports commercial nuclear and DOE construction activities, including implementation of a site-specific safety plan and compliance with client, corporate, regulatory, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with craft employees, operations, subcontractors, and project leadership to implement the site safety program.
• Use stop-work authority when work does not comply with policies, regulations, plans, or work packages.
• Perform daily hazard inspections, review upcoming work, and help develop corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations, first aid coordination, emergency medical relationships, and safety documentation.
• Review work plans before work begins and assist with safety training covering OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client requirements.
• Maintain project and accident records in accordance with applicable requirements.

Required Experience

• Knowledge of construction safety and federal OSHA requirements in commercial nuclear and DOE environments.
• Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental safety, or a related discipline preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, attention to detail, and independent judgment.
• Ability to access all areas of a construction site and work across varied climates and conditions.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and potentially night shifts.
