Lead Process Engineer Water Market

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a senior Lead Process Engineer to guide process engineering and design integration for municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects across North America. The role leads treatment process development in a collaborative design-build and EPC environment.

Project Details

Projects may involve drinking water, wastewater, desalination, water reuse, groundwater remediation, stormwater recycling, industrial treatment, biosolids, pipelines, and conveyance. Treatment technologies may include filtration, UF/RO, chemical treatment, oil-water separation, biological treatment, thermal hydrolysis, and anaerobic digestion.

Responsibilities

• Lead treatment process evaluation, selection, optimization, and lifecycle cost analysis.
• Oversee process design packages, engineering reports, PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, datasheets, hydraulics, and equipment sizing.
• Resolve technical issues involving design, construction, equipment, and plant operations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, multiple projects, clients, and partner engineers.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, business development, client presentations, and professional organization activities.
• Mentor entry- and mid-level engineers and contribute to improved design tools and workflows.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• At least 10 years of process development and conceptual or detailed design experience in municipal and industrial water or wastewater treatment.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local water treatment and discharge regulations.
• Design-build process leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic or process modeling software such as AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, BioWin, GPS-X, Hysys, Aspen, WatPro, AqMB, or SIMBA is preferred.
• Intermittent travel is required, along with reliable attendance, effective communication, safe work practices, and occasional overtime or weekend work.

Compensation and Benefits
