Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support infrastructure work in El Paso, Texas. This role contributes to project controls, subcontract administration, coordination, quality, and commissioning activities.

Project Details

The position supports innovative infrastructure projects within PCL's Civil West operations.

Responsibilities

• Complete quantity takeoffs, surveys, contract progress reporting, and change management.
• Administer subcontracted scopes, clarify work requirements, respond to inquiries, and track progress.
• Support project start-up and review subcontractor submittals for scope, design, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Assist with design-team site inspections and participate in systems commissioning sign-off.
• Identify risks and help address construction, scheduling, quality, and contract challenges.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Four to six years of operational construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, materials, standards, HSE, and quality practices.
• Basic engineering and problem-solving ability, strong communication skills, and effective planning and time management.
• Experience developing schedules, preparing and administering subcontracts, and managing contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal operational systems and new technology.
