Mechanical Project Manager

Job Summary

Manage mechanical projects for Frontier-Kemper-Lake Shore, coordinating engineering, field execution, and customer requirements from planning through completion.

Project Details

The division delivers design, engineering, installation, and commissioning for hoisting and vertical conveyance systems, alongside underground and heavy civil construction work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and customer-facing plans.
• Coordinate designers, contractors, suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities to deliver work that meets technical and quality requirements.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning; conduct site assessments and quality inspections.
• Monitor progress, communicate risks, and implement safety measures throughout project execution.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and report project status to management and customers.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of mechanical project management experience and three years working with mechanical hoisting equipment design and operation.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, CAD, project design and planning, costing, documentation, and mining codes and regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and independent work skills.
• A master’s degree, PE license or related certifications, underground mining operations experience, and familiarity with automation and control systems are preferred.
