MEP - Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary

Holder Construction is seeking a full-time, in-person MEP Assistant Superintendent to support delivery of a Mount Prospect, Illinois project. The role coordinates complex building systems, trade partners, and project teams from pre-construction through close-out.

Project Details

The position supports commercial construction involving sophisticated MEP infrastructure, including project types such as data centers, airports, and other special-use facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MEP system installation, quality requirements, trade partners, and equipment vendors.
• Assist with project schedules, QA/QC activities, energy-control procedures, and field safety programs.
• Track punch lists, troubleshoot field engineering issues, and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Support system start-up, commissioning, close-out, and operational performance verification.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients, designers, and trade partners.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of commercial construction experience with large, complex MEP systems.
• Experience managing workforce needs, project progress, and technical issues.
• Background with complex MEP infrastructure projects such as data centers, airports, or special-use facilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools, QA/QC, commissioning, safety programs, and energy-control procedures is preferred.
