Millwright Superintendent

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Millwright Superintendent to lead field supervision, craft productivity, subcontractor coordination, and safe execution on an industrial construction project in Carrollton, Georgia. The position is fully on site, with initial orientation in Overland Park, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Direct millwright foremen, general foremen, subcontractor supervision, and field engineering activities.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, productivity, costs, materials, labor, and installed quantities.
• Lead planning meetings and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective plans, daily logs, and punch lists.
• Coordinate work packages, equipment installation, technical inquiries, job hazard analyses, and subcontractor performance.
• Support schedule recovery, extra-work authorizations, back-charge identification, commercial recovery, and project reporting.
• Provide work direction, training, development, and performance management while supporting the Construction Manager.
• Maintain effective working relationships with craft supervision, subcontractors, construction engineering, project controls, and union representatives when applicable.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
• Previous Millwright Superintendent experience is strongly preferred.
• Union or union-management experience is strongly preferred, including familiarity with labor agreements and jurisdictional issues.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Ability to work in confined and uneven areas, climb steel, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, lift up to 50 pounds, and work extended shifts in changing weather conditions.
