Millwright Superintendent

Job Summary

PCL Civil Constructors is seeking a Millwright Superintendent to lead field execution for complex transportation infrastructure work in Slidell, Louisiana. The role oversees teams, subcontractors, safety, quality, scheduling, and project performance.

Project Details

The initial assignment is in Slidell and surrounding areas, supporting transportation structures and community infrastructure. Future assignments may require travel or relocation to other project sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with construction and project managers to execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor project personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Implement site safety procedures, documentation, and record-keeping requirements.
• Develop project execution plans, critical-path schedules, resource-loaded lookaheads, and progress reports.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and purchase orders while identifying project risks and constructability issues.
• Coordinate millwright, mechanical, rigging, and heavy equipment operations.
• Lead site meetings and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, labor representatives, and other stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Five to ten years of construction experience, including five to seven years in millwright or mechanical construction and at least three years supervising.
• Journeyman certification or a related undergraduate degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, safety requirements, environmental practices, scheduling, labor productivity, and contract risk.
• Ability to interpret structural and mechanical drawings, coordinate multiple work scopes, and oversee rigging and heavy equipment operations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction operations systems.
• Successful completion of a project-specific pre-employment criminal history screening.
