Job Summary
Black & Veatch is seeking a Nuclear Project Engineering Manager to oversee engineering execution on nuclear infrastructure projects, interfacing directly with clients on technical matters and leading a team of engineers on medium-to-high complexity assignments. This is a full-time, staff position based in Overland Park, Kansas. Note: candidates must meet citizenship requirements outlined in 10 CFR 810 for work supporting the global nuclear program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise project budget, schedule, technical output, and engineering staff performance across complex nuclear projects.
- Interface directly with clients on all technical aspects, including scope changes and contract management, with minimal PM oversight.
- Define and manage project schedules for single or multiple engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance, mentor team members, and maintain compliance with quality programs and engineering standards.
- Support business development and proposal activities.
- Oversee performance management, career development, and corrective actions for direct reports.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 11 years of related engineering work experience.
- Prior nuclear industry experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, codes, and standards.
- Professional engineering registration or licensure required (or actively pursuing).
- Must satisfy all requirements, including citizenship requirements, under 10 CFR 810.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for Maryland-based locations ranges from $162,384 to $271,176 annually; final pay depends on experience, qualifications, and location. Performance-based bonus eligibility also available.
