Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent in Raleigh to lead complex pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical construction projects from planning through closeout. The role oversees field teams, project execution, safety, quality, schedule, and project delivery.

Project Details

The position supports significantly complex or multiple pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical projects, including work involving multiple superintendents and broad internal, subcontractor, supplier, and owner teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan construction sequencing, develop work plans, and manage site workflow through project completion.
• Lead subcontractors, field staff, suppliers, safety activities, quality programs, and site logistics.
• Maintain project schedules in partnership with project management and manage changes affecting cost and timing.
• Conduct daily and trade meetings, coordinate owner and design-team meetings, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Oversee materials, equipment, documentation, reporting, self-perform work, and project closeout activities.
• Identify project risks, support procurement and buyout, and help develop staffing and project execution plans.
• Recruit and mentor talent while supporting training, diversity, inclusion, client relationships, and future business development.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 10 years of construction experience and 8 years of field supervision experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction means and methods, project processes, trades, self-perform work, labor productivity, layout, and crane flagging and rigging.
• Intermediate proficiency with project management, accounting, scheduling, and Microsoft Office software, plus advanced proficiency with required construction technology.
• Experience leading Lean principles is preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required, with the ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
