Job Summary

Project Engineer responsible for supporting construction estimating, design coordination, contract administration, and project management. The role begins with field experience and offers a progression toward project management.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, specifications, and project data to estimate labor, materials, schedule requirements, and costs.
  • Prepare bids, negotiated-work estimates, bid packages, contracts, submittal logs, and project records.
  • Coordinate with owners, clients, vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and superintendents to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Support three-week look-aheads, scheduling, shop drawing reviews, layout activities, inspections, and project documentation.
  • Assist with construction coordination and serve as a communication link between the owner and contractor.
  • Perform field assignments under superintendent direction or office work under project manager direction.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately two years of project engineering field experience and exposure to hard-bid contracts are suggested.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, project scheduling, contract administration, estimating software, building codes, and engineering plans.
  • OSHA 10 certification, a valid driver's license, and compliance with company motor vehicle standards.
  • Ability to perform 3D scans and use a Total Station.
  • Ability to conduct technical research, analyze data, solve engineering problems, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.

Working Conditions

  • Work includes field activity such as climbing, kneeling, standing, walking, driving, lifting, and operating in varied weather and construction environments.
  • The position may involve exposure to dust, chemicals, noise, mechanical equipment, tight spaces, and other jobsite conditions.
