Job Summary

Lead daily construction operations as a Superintendent I, directing crews and subcontractors while coordinating with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, and customers. This is a working field leadership role responsible for schedule, quality, safety, staffing, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise crews and subcontractors, assign work, coordinate staffing, and remain available during working hours.
  • Manage projects exceeding $1 million, including work with multiple subcontractors and crews of five or more.
  • Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and monitor progress, costs, materials, equipment, and staffing.
  • Perform layout and quality inspections, identify conflicts in plans, and help resolve construction issues with project stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily logs, equipment records, timecards, inventories, and required project documentation.
  • Lead crew meetings, enforce company and safety policies, promote proper PPE use, and maintain OSHA-compliant jobsites.
  • Train employees, evaluate performance, support staffing decisions, and provide technical guidance in the field.
  • Work alongside crews when needed and perform construction tasks when not assigned to a project.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible construction and equipment operation experience, including two years of lead experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, subcontractor coordination, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Working knowledge of self-performed carpentry, concrete, steel erection, and millwright work.
  • Ability to coordinate and delegate work, read blueprints and engineering plans, inspect jobsites, and communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with company motor vehicle record standards.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift or move construction materials in varying site conditions.
