Project Engineer Building Group (Vertical Construction)

Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking a senior-level Project Engineer to support and lead vertical construction work from its Honolulu market. The role manages administrative and technical project functions while coordinating field and cost engineering teams.

Project Details

Kiewit's vertical construction portfolio includes offices, industrial facilities, schools, sports venues, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, manufacturing, retail, and interior tenant improvements. The position supports projects using general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist, and turnkey delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project scheduling, cost, revenue, and cash-flow management.
• Oversee temporary engineering, permanent design coordination, quality control, and project closeout.
• Administer contracts and subcontracts while maintaining client relationships.
• Support operations planning and serve as an information link between project leadership and engineering teams.
• Develop and manage field and cost engineers and project subcontractors.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience, with vertical construction experience preferred.
• At least two years managing engineers and project subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, time-management, initiative, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Commitment to safety, ethics, teamwork, and meeting deadlines; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $110,000-$160,000. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life insurance, disability, retirement matching, and paid time off benefits.
