Project Engineer - Data Center Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support data center construction projects through document control, project coordination, procurement tracking, subcontract administration, and closeout activities.

Project Details

This position supports data center construction in San Marcos and requires coordination across project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction drawings, project records, logs, submittals, RFIs, and related documentation.
• Coordinate RFI responses, review submittals against plans and specifications, and support inspections, audits, and non-conformance tracking.
• Monitor material and equipment deliveries and assist with subcontract scopes, purchase orders, pricing requests, and change orders.
• Support schedule management, project meetings, meeting minutes, punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and project closeout.

Required Experience

• At least two years of project engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Industry-related college degree; data center construction experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, leadership, negotiation, analytical, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Apple devices, and the ability to learn project-specific software.
• Procore, JDE, and Asta experience is preferred.
