Project Engineer II

Job Summary

McShane Construction Company is hiring a Project Engineer II to support project delivery and build project management capabilities from its Rosemont office.

Project Details

The company works in multifamily, industrial, commercial, and healthcare markets.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and support subcontractor prequalification.
• Maintain RFIs, submittals, procurement records, drawings, meeting minutes, punch lists, and closeout documents.
• Support contract reviews, cost reports, payment applications, schedule updates, and resolution of project issues.
• Assist with quality tracking, project safety planning, jobsite orientations, and weekly safety audits.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field; internship experience is preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of Project Engineer experience.
• Proficiency with Salus, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must live within one hour of Rosemont, Illinois; relocation is not offered.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S. required.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary of $78,000–$85,000, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and cell phone allowance. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) match and profit sharing, life and disability insurance, student loan assistance, paid parental leave, and 15 PTO days.
