Project Engineer II - Industrial (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer II to support industrial construction projects, with an initial assignment in Beaumont, Texas. This role contributes across preconstruction, planning, procurement, project administration, and closeout while monitoring schedule and budget impacts.

Project Details

The position supports industrial construction work and requires travel or relocation to project assignments as business needs change.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction drawings, project documents, logs, RFIs, submittals, and compliance records.
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries and support inspections, audits, and non-conformance tracking.
• Prepare subcontract and purchase order scopes, solicit change pricing, and draft change orders within delegated authority.
• Use virtual design tools for coordination and support punch lists, as-builts, warranties, and project closeout.
• Collaborate with the project team and provide updates on issues affecting schedule or budget.

Required Experience

• Industry-related degree required.
• At least two years of construction project management experience preferred.
• Industrial construction and Lean principles experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain it after hire.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, problem-solving, relationship-building, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
