Project Engineer II - Power Generation (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer II for its industrial construction team, with a focus on traveling power generation assignments. The role supports projects from preconstruction through closeout and monitors issues affecting schedule and budget.

Project Details

This position supports industrial and power generation construction work and requires travel or relocation to designated project sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current construction drawings, project records, logs, and related documentation.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, inspections, compliance reviews, and non-conformance tracking.
• Monitor material and equipment deliveries and assist with project coordination using virtual design tools.
• Prepare scopes for subcontracts and purchase orders, and support subcontractor change requests and change orders.
• Manage closeout materials, punch lists, as-built documentation, and warranty activities.

Required Experience

• Industry-related degree required.
• Two or more years of construction project management experience preferred.
• Industrial construction and LEAN principles experience are preferred or desirable.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred, or the selected candidate must be willing to obtain it after hire.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; willingness to learn project-specific software.
