Project Engineer-Southeast District

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to support transportation and heavy civil construction in its Southeast District. The role coordinates technical, administrative, financial, and field engineering activities while developing and mentoring project engineering staff.

Project Details

The Southeast District delivers highways, airports, mass transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and related infrastructure across the southeastern United States. This position will initially be based near Charleston, South Carolina, with assignments changing according to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project schedules, progress tracking, workforce productivity, and operational planning.
• Manage cost, revenue, and cash flow information while supporting financial performance.
• Provide technical oversight for temporary construction works and review engineering documents for discrepancies.
• Coordinate quality requirements, contract administration, subcontractor changes, and project closeout.
• Maintain client communication and support resolution of project concerns.
• Lead, train, and mentor field and cost engineers.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience, including experience managing engineers.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, ethics, safety awareness, and time-management skills.
• Availability for travel, relocation, overtime, weekends, and work at varying project locations.
