Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Manager for its West Palm Beach team. This role leads administrative and field coordination for commercial construction projects while partnering with the Superintendent and broader project team.

Project Details

The position supports commercial general contracting work in Florida, with required experience in sectors such as education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resorts, or senior living.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain project schedules, track long-lead materials, and monitor scope and progress.
  • Manage subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, buyout activities, and preconstruction support.
  • Prepare project status reporting, owner billing, and financial risk reviews.
  • Evaluate value engineering options and identify design or constructability concerns.
  • Coordinate safety planning, construction documents, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and scopes of work.
  • Interpret contracts, budgets, insurance requirements, bonds, and change-order provisions.
  • Maintain productive relationships with project stakeholders and subcontractors.

Required Experience

  • Five to ten years of construction project management experience.
  • Commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
  • Background in education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resort, or senior living projects.
  • Knowledge and practical use of Lean construction principles.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, organization, judgment, analytical, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, plus the ability to learn project-specific software.
