Project Manager I and II - Construction

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring Project Managers at Level I or II to guide construction projects, support team development, and deliver quality, safe, and timely results while strengthening customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project finances, projections, cost coding, invoices, owner billings, contracts, and trade partner selection.
• Lead and develop assistant project managers and project engineers, assign work, approve timecards, and provide performance feedback.
• Serve as the primary owner contact, manage agreements and change orders, and address site concerns.
• Maintain project schedule and budget while overseeing quality, risk, safety, and compliance.

Required Experience

• Degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to accept project assignments in the North Carolina region.
• Project Manager I: six years of construction management or related experience.
• Project Manager II: seven years of construction management or related experience, including large projects valued at $20 million or more.
• Ability to manage complex projects, organize multiple tasks, and understand construction law and standard business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office and project application skills, with effective communication and listening skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Project Manager I base pay is $113,500–$170,300 per year; Project Manager II base pay is $132,100–$198,200 per year. Actual ranges are higher in certain listed locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan and benefits including medical, dental, retirement matching, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and adoption assistance.
