Project Manager I

Job Summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Project Manager I to direct project delivery and financial performance for heavy civil construction work valued up to $15 million.

Project Details

Projects involve heavy civil work, including paving, underground construction, concrete, dirt, and grading.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project costs and revenue, set budgets, and monitor quantities, costs, schedule, and profitability.
• Coordinate estimating, project controls, staffing, project startup, and bid reviews.
• Lead communication among project teams and maintain relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and inspectors.
• Support safe work practices and accurate construction reporting.

Required Experience

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent heavy civil experience.
• Three to five years of progressive project experience in heavy civil construction.
• At least five years of experience in paving, dirt, and grading in public or private environments.
• Knowledge of union agreements and prevailing wage requirements, along with strong leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $111,123 to $166,683. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, flexible spending options, wellness programs, and a 401(k) match of 100% on the first 6% of eligible compensation deferred, with immediate vesting. Eligible employees and dependents may qualify for a medical plan with premiums fully paid by Granite.
