Project Manager I - Cost Controls

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Project Manager I to oversee project cost controls and financial performance while supporting project quality, schedule, safety, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, cost codes, invoices, billings, and change orders.
• Support EPC contract negotiations and lead procurement and award activities for major subcontractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate subcontracts, trade partner selection, and equipment projections.
• Guide Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, including reviewing timecards and providing feedback.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of related experience and the ability to support complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and relevant web application skills; current driver’s license.
• Commercial construction, renewable energy development, EPC, or emerging technology experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $113,500-$170,300, with location adjustments for certain offices. The role is eligible for an incentive plan and offers medical, dental, retirement, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and other benefits.
