Project Manager - Underground Construction

Job Summary

Frontier-Kemper is hiring a Project Manager to lead the safe, timely, and financially successful delivery of construction work at its Kershaw, South Carolina project site.

Project Details

The company delivers underground and heavy civil construction, including tunnels, deep shafts, and vertical conveyance systems for infrastructure and mining clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead project operations, engineering coordination, scheduling, budgeting, quality, and safety.
• Build and guide field and office teams, set project objectives, and serve as the primary contact for clients and project partners.
• Track performance and resolve issues affecting schedule, cost, quality, and progress.
• Oversee contract administration, billing, forecasting, cost controls, change orders, equipment use, and project profitability.
• Coordinate project meetings, manage resources and risks, and ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, company policies, and regulations.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is preferred.
• At least 10 years of underground construction experience and 10 years in project finance, construction management, and project execution.
• Experience managing large heavy civil, tunneling, or underground projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Knowledge of underground construction methods, contract administration, project controls, and construction management.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
