Project Safety Manager

Job Summary

Oversee project safety and monitor daily construction operations for Ames Construction in Van Wert, Ohio, with future assignments on nationally based projects.

Project Details

Ames works on heavy civil and industrial construction, including highways, bridges, mines, dams, and rail projects.

Responsibilities

• Implement the project safety program, establish site procedures, and maintain safe work practices.
• Deliver new-hire orientations and safety meetings, monitor construction work for compliance, and stop unsafe work.
• Assess risks, investigate incidents, and analyze project safety statistics.
• Support project setup and budget controls, communicate with clients and subcontractors, and coordinate with the regional safety team.

Required Experience

• At least five years of experience in a construction safety supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent, a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, and certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
