Project Safety Manager - Data Center Construction (Night Shift)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Safety Manager to support safety leadership on a Richmond data center construction project during the night shift.

Project Details

This role supports data center construction and coordinates safety activities with the project management and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Help develop the project safety plan and monitor safety performance, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Enforce company safety processes, support regulatory compliance, and participate in OSHA-related audits.
• Lead or facilitate safety training, committees, preconstruction meetings, and pre-task planning.
• Maintain permits and site safety records, including hot work, GFCI, confined space, and excavation documentation.
• Review incident investigations, conduct industrial hygiene assessments, and coordinate safety activities with the Project Manager.
• Support stop-work authority and promote proactive safety practices across the project team.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, conflict-resolution, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
