Quality Field Superintendent

Job Summary

Lead project inspection and quality verification, guiding inspectors and coordinating quality matters with field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multidisciplinary inspections and confirm construction, materials, and completed work meet contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
• Manage inspection and test plans, inspection readiness, audits, and quality walkthroughs while ensuring safe inspection practices.
• Coordinate inspection issues with clients, third-party inspectors, subcontractors, and project teams; support system acceptance, commissioning, and final turnover.
• Supervise, schedule, and mentor inspectors and technicians, and report inspection progress to project and quality leadership.
• Review inspection records, weld logs, traceability information, test results, and turnover documents; track nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of field inspection or quality assurance/control experience on major construction or transportation projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary inspection teams on large or complex projects.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASTM, ACI, DOT, and ICC, and proficiency reading construction drawings, specifications, and inspection records.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent education and experience is accepted.
• ACI certification preferred; ICC Special Inspector certifications and NICET credentials are listed qualifications.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.

Work Requirements

Work involves wearing required PPE, frequent standing or walking and interaction with others, occasional climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds, and compliance with site safety procedures. Shifts may include swing, night, and weekend work.
