Safety Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary

Ames Construction is hiring a Project Safety Manager to oversee safety programs and compliance on heavy civil construction projects in Charlotte.

Project Details

Ames builds critical infrastructure and heavy civil and industrial projects, including highways, bridges, mines, dams, and rail.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project safety plans, and inspect sites for compliance.
• Lead safety meetings and training, investigate incidents, and develop corrective actions.
• Work with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into construction activities.
• Maintain safety records and serve as the project's primary safety contact.

Required Experience

• At least five years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
• CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 certifications are highly desirable.
• A related bachelor's degree is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish skills are also preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in an outdoor construction environment.
