Safety Manager I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager I to guide safety programs across multiple construction sites and support project teams, with possible supervision of safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the company safety program and develop site-specific electrical safety plans with project teams.
• Identify training needs and deliver orientations, electrical safety instruction, and train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, join subcontractor planning meetings, and mentor safety staff.
• Track and analyze safety and incident data, conduct site audits, assist with major incident reviews, and monitor subcontractor safety.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent, plus at least six years of construction safety experience; alternatively, a high school diploma, CHST, OSHA 500, and at least 10 years of construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, training, and work planning, or equivalent experience.
• CSP preferred; current driver’s license required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and relevant safety software, along with communication, leadership, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $100,100-$150,200, with location-based increases for certain listed markets. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
