Safety Manager I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager I to guide safety programs across multiple construction projects and sites, with possible oversight of other safety professionals.

Project Details

Mortenson works in markets including renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and sports.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the company safety program and help project teams develop electrical safety plans.
• Identify training needs, deliver safety orientations and electrical training, and support train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, participate in subcontractor planning meetings, and mentor safety staff.
• Track safety and incident data, conduct site audits, assist with major incident reviews, and monitor subcontractor work.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent, plus at least six years of construction safety experience; or a high school diploma, CHST, OSHA 500, and at least 10 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• At least six years as a construction safety professional managing project safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, training, and work planning, or equivalent experience.
• CSP preferred; current driver's license required.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and safety software, communicate effectively, and travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $100,100-$150,200, with higher ranges for specified locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision, dental, 401(k) match, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and other programs.
