Safety Manager I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager I to lead and support its Zero Injury Safety program across multiple construction sites and project teams, with possible supervision of safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Guide implementation of safety programs across project sites and help teams develop site-specific electrical safety practices.
• Identify training needs and deliver orientations, electrical safety training, and train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, participate in preconstruction meetings, and mentor safety personnel.
• Track and analyze safety and incident data, conduct site audits, support incident investigations, and monitor subcontractor safety.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent, plus at least six years of construction safety experience; alternatively, a high school diploma, CHST certification, OSHA 500, and at least 10 years of construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, training, and work planning, or equivalent experience.
• CSP certification preferred; current driver’s license required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant safety software, along with communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $100,100-$150,200, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
