Safety Manager I or II

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager at Level I or II to lead safety efforts across multiple construction teams and sites, with possible oversight of other safety professionals.

Responsibilities

• Guide site teams in applying the company safety program and developing site-specific electrical safety plans.
• Identify training needs and deliver orientations, electrical safety instruction, and train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, participate in subcontractor planning meetings, and monitor subcontractor work.
• Mentor safety staff, track safety and injury data, conduct site audits, and support major incident reviews.

Required Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or an equivalent field, plus at least six years of construction safety experience; alternatively, a high school diploma, CHST, OSHA 500, and at least 10 years of construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, training, and work planning, or equivalent experience.
• CSP certification is preferred. A current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100% are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant safety software, along with strong communication, presentation, organization, and leadership skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Level I base pay is $100,100–$150,200; Level II base pay is $107,200–$160,800. Pay may be higher for specified office locations. The position is eligible for an incentive plan.
