Safety Manager I - Power Generation (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Safety Manager I to provide field safety leadership on traveling power generation construction projects. This role supports project teams with safety planning, training, compliance, inspections, and incident prevention.

Project Details

Assignments support power generation projects across the United States and require national travel according to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Help develop project safety plans and participate in preconstruction and pre-task planning.
• Track safety performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Conduct safety training, inspections, audits, and industrial hygiene assessments.
• Support regulatory compliance, incident investigations, safety committees, and project documentation.
• Coordinate safety activities with the Project Manager and reinforce stop-work authority for unsafe conditions.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, problem-solving, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
