Safety Manager - Mission Critical

Job Summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Safety Manager to lead construction safety for mission-critical projects at campuses in Indiana, Ohio, Texas, and potentially other locations.

The role supports mission-critical data center construction and campus operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the campus safety program and advise field leaders, safety staff, and subcontractors on regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate lockout/tagout planning and energy isolation with project teams, engineering, commissioning, and subcontractors.
• Participate in high-risk activity planning and review work procedures to identify energy hazards and verify worker qualifications, training, and PPE.
• Investigate serious incidents, support root-cause analysis, claims management, return-to-work coordination, and accident reporting.
• Conduct site inspections, safety program evaluations, training, and safety committee activities.
• Coordinate OSHA interactions, consultations, inspections, and citation meetings.

Required Experience

• At least five years of successful safety management experience with mission-critical projects.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, hazardous-energy control, construction methods, and project documents such as electrical one-lines and drawings.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation, claims management, and contractor management systems such as ISN and Avetta.
• Qualifying credentials and experience include a nationally recognized board-certified safety credential such as CSP, GSP, CIH, ASP, or CHST with 3–5 years of construction safety management experience, or current OSHA 500 certification with six years of full-time construction safety management experience.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized organization.
• Ability to temporarily locate to the project and manage other safety personnel. Spanish-English bilingual ability is a plus.
