Senior MEP Project Manager I

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a senior MEP project manager to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects or scopes on medium-to-large construction projects, with a focus on safe, timely, high-quality delivery and strong customer relationships.

Project Details

The role manages MEP projects or scopes on medium-to-large projects. Mortenson works across markets including sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and overall financial performance.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selection, contract administration, and billings.
• Lead 3-D coordination, conflict resolution, commissioning, and testing.
• Direct closeout, including manuals, model handover, and training.
• Develop assistant project managers and project engineers, and serve as the primary owner contact.
• Manage change orders and approvals while overseeing quality, risk, safety, and compliance.

Required Experience

• At least eight years of construction management experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices, with strong listening and communication skills.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $144,300–$216,500, with higher ranges for certain listed office locations. The position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
