Senior Project Manager

Job Summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large construction projects in the Central Michigan region and manage project delivery from planning through warranty.

Project Details

The role supports commercial projects, with preferred experience in projects valued at $10 million or more across commercial, education, healthcare, mixed-use, historic preservation, and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, staffing, and communication with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
• Lead bid processes, trade contractor relationships, subcontract agreements, and project planning coordination.
• Oversee project documentation, change orders, quality expectations, safety goals, and client service through the warranty period.
• Support technical proposals, pursuit interviews, and project presentations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 10 years of commercial construction leadership experience, including five years as a Project Manager or in a role leading multiple large, complex projects.
• Training or coursework in construction management, project management, safety, or communication.
• Strong planning, organization, communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
