Senior Project Manager - Aviation Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead administrative and field construction activities for aviation projects while maintaining quality, financial performance, and stakeholder relationships.

Project Details

This role supports the company's aviation construction business and may oversee multiple medium-sized projects, a large project, or a major scope within a complex aviation project.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, manage long-lead items, and coordinate required changes.
• Negotiate and administer change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Prepare project status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
• Evaluate value engineering, constructability, buy-out, and scope-reduction opportunities.
• Implement project safety planning and communicate requirements to project teams and subcontractors.
• Support preconstruction, contract administration, budgeting, insurance, bonding, and staff development.

Required Experience

• Industry-related college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 10 years of construction experience, including large aviation project experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, client relations, judgment, and construction knowledge.
• Experience with or ability to learn JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta, and other project scheduling tools.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is required.
