Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead administrative and field construction activities for its traveling industrial construction team. The role may oversee multiple medium-sized projects, a large project, or a defined scope within a complex project.

Project Details

This position supports the company's growing industrial construction business and requires approximately 75% travel. Semiconductor project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, address long-lead items, and manage changes.
  • Negotiate change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders while managing the buyout process.
  • Prepare project status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities and constructability concerns.
  • Coordinate project safety planning and communication with project teams and subcontractors.
  • Support preconstruction, contract administration, budgeting, and scope control.
  • Lead staff development, assignments, performance actions, and promotions.

Required Experience

  • Industry-related college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of construction experience, including project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading, teaching, developing, and mentoring others.
  • Experience with project management or scheduling tools such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, or Asta is expected, along with Microsoft Office proficiency.
