Senior Project Manager - Power Generation (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead power generation and other industrial construction work. The role manages project administration, field execution, financial performance, quality, safety, and stakeholder relationships while developing project teams.

Project Details

This traveling position supports the company's industrial business unit, with power generation experience preferred. The manager may oversee multiple medium-sized projects, one large project, or a defined scope within a complex project.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain schedules, address long-lead materials, and manage project changes.
• Negotiate change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders while managing buyout activities.
• Prepare status reports, owner billings, financial risk reviews, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate safety planning, preconstruction, constructability reviews, contract compliance, budgets, and project scope.
• Lead staffing decisions and support employee development, mentoring, and performance management.

Required Experience

• Industry-related college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of construction experience, including project management and leadership of others.
• Experience developing and mentoring team members; semiconductor experience is preferred.
• Ability to use or learn JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta, and related project management software.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and strong communication, negotiation, judgment, leadership, and construction knowledge.
