Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead field operations for vertical construction and industrial building projects in the Tacoma, Washington area. The role oversees safety, quality, productivity, cost control, scheduling, and coordination among craft teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project staff.

Project Details

Kiewit Building Group delivers office, industrial, education, healthcare, hospitality, transportation, manufacturing, retail, technology, and interior construction projects using general construction, construction management, design-build, and turnkey delivery methods.

Responsibilities

  • Direct craft personnel and monitor productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate field engineering, subcontractors, other superintendents, project staff, and leadership.
  • Plan labor, materials, equipment, and short- and long-range schedules.
  • Review work for compliance with drawings, specifications, company procedures, and safety standards.
  • Resolve workforce, scheduling, and coordination issues while maintaining project progress.
  • Provide safety training and support quality assurance and cost-control efforts.

Required Experience

  • At least 15 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years in a supervisory position.
  • Required experience in vertical building construction as a general contractor overseeing subcontractors and trade partners.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering documents, union agreements, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel, relocate, work overtime and weekends when required, and work across varying project locations and conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
