Senior Safety Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to guide safety efforts across multiple construction teams and sites, advancing its Zero Injury program.

Project Details

Mortenson works across markets including sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare. This position supports multiple projects and operating-group teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety program implementation and collaborate with project, trade, and joint-venture partners.
• Review site hazard assessments, develop and deliver safety training, and oversee safety records and performance trend analysis.
• Conduct site audits, document corrective actions, and lead incident reporting and investigations.
• Coach and mentor safety staff, support safety leadership, and help meet performance goals.
• Apply construction safety requirements and applicable OSHA and ANSI standards.

Required Experience

• At least eight years in a dedicated construction safety role managing large or multi-project safety programs, hazard analyses, controls, and training.
• Experience on large, complex projects with substantial subcontractor workforces.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma plus CHST, OSHA 500, and the specified construction leadership experience.
• CSP preferred; experience leading a safety team is also preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, presentation, coaching, and computer skills; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range is $113,500–$170,300, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
