Senior Safety Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson seeks a Senior Safety Manager to guide safety performance across multiple construction teams and sites, supporting its Zero Injury program.

Project Details

Mortenson works across markets including sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety initiatives with project teams, trade partners, and joint-venture partners.
• Review hazard assessments, conduct site audits, and track corrective actions and safety trends.
• Develop and deliver safety training and orientation materials.
• Lead incident investigations, support high-risk work planning, and mentor safety staff.
• Help safety leadership achieve performance goals and respond to incidents.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500, and extensive construction experience.
• At least eight years in construction safety, including management of large or multi-project safety programs.
• Experience with complex projects and large subcontractor workforces.
• CSP certification preferred; safety-team management experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay ranges from $113,500 to $170,300, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision, dental, retirement matching, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and adoption assistance.
