Senior Superintendent

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations and supervise crews across complex construction projects.

Project Details

The role calls for experience with solar or large industrial power projects and may cover multiple complex jobs.

Responsibilities

• Direct site activities, work assignments, crews, and project logistics.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, and schedules with other departments and project managers.
• Manage project forecasts and field resources, review construction documents, and maintain project schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Lead preconstruction planning and site meetings, coordinate design questions with engineers, and plan site utilization and crew sizes.
• Coach field staff and frontline leaders, support hiring and performance decisions, and promote teamwork and career development.
• Implement the site safety program and maintain productive relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other site visitors.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of construction experience, including 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; alternatively, 10 years of trade experience.
• Experience with solar or large industrial power projects and the ability to oversee multiple complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.
• Working knowledge of construction law and standard business practices, strong organizational skills, and a professional, customer-focused approach.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300–$216,500, with location-based adjustments in certain markets. The position is eligible for an incentive plan.
