Senior Superintendent I

Job Summary

Mortenson seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations and supervise teams across multiple projects or large, complex construction work.

Project Details

The position calls for experience with solar projects or large industrial power work and may involve multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities, assign work, supervise crews, and manage site logistics and resources.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, plans, and specifications to support project schedules.
• Develop and update project schedules, including three-week lookaheads, and work with project managers on labor and cost forecasting.
• Lead preconstruction planning and site meetings; establish site utilization plans, crew sizes, and equipment selections.
• Coach and mentor field personnel, support hiring and performance decisions, and foster teamwork.
• Implement the project safety program and maintain productive relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other site visitors.

Required Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; alternatively, 10 years of trade experience.
• At least 15 years of construction experience and 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience overseeing solar or large industrial power projects and managing multiple complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.
• Working knowledge of construction law and business practices, with strong communication and customer service skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300-$216,500 per year, with higher ranges for specified locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
