Senior Superintendent I

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site teams and coordinate construction work across multiple projects or a large, complex project. This regional role requires full-time presence at project sites in North Carolina.

Project Details

Project locations include Butner and the Charlotte region. Relevant experience includes solar or large industrial power projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities, assign work, supervise crews, and support field team development.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, labor, and other resources with project managers and internal teams.
• Review documents for constructability, coordinate plan clarifications, and maintain project schedules and three-week look-aheads.
• Plan site utilization and crew sizes, select formwork and equipment, and lead preconstruction and site meetings.
• Support project budgets and forecasts, implement the site safety program, and manage site logistics and labor issues.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of construction experience and 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; alternatively, 10 years of trade experience.
• Experience with solar or oversight of large industrial power projects, including the ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300-$216,500, with placement based on qualifications and internal equity. The role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
